v2Ray on Linux

Warning: on 2021-08-17 the QV2Ray developers decided to give up on their project. While recent versions can still be used with our service, this may change in the future.

Requirements

  • Recent Linux distribution that recognizes certificates issued by LetsEncrypt.
  • Correct system-time. We recommend you use ntpd or chrony, not systemd-timesyncd.

Notes

Our v2Ray setup provides a minimal configuration allowing your apps to use the VPN. v2Ray allows for much more sophisticated configurations which are beyond the scope of our documentation or support team. Please consult the official v2ray documentation if you're interested in its more advanced features.

Our instructions show you how to use v2Ray as a proxy, as that's what it's designed for. If you need a more traditional VPN connection we recommend you use WireGuard or OpenVPN instead. Should you still want to use v2Ray as a VPN we recommend you Google tun2socks. Note that we cannot assist you when using v2Ray with tun2socks.
